Fuel Cell System Engineer

At PowerCell you will be a member of the Fuel Cell Team which is responsible for fuel cell stack and system design. The Fuel Cell Team also supports the System Team and Sales Team with fuel cell know-how and works closely with the Fuel Processor Team to develop efficient overall system solutions. We cooperate with carefully selected automotive suppliers, technology consultant companies and research institutes to implement the best possible technical and commercial solutions in our product portfolio. As a Fuel Cell System Engineer you will work mainly within our project organization and report to both your line manager and respective project managers. You will work with generation systems for telecom back-up, auxiliary power, fuel cell range extenders and full propulsion automotive fuel cell systems. Together with our highly skilled team of engineers and scientists you will create added value for a wide range of different customers. To succeed in this position you need a broad technical background and a pragmatic problem solving attitude. Understanding of fuel cell system operation, general automation and process control, electronics and electromechanical components are highly desirable.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Commissioning and field testing of fuel cell systems
• Balance-of-plant (pumps, compressors, valves, etc.) characterization
• Characterization of fuel cell stacks
• Taking part in mechanical and electrical set up of component and test systems
• Taking part in fuel cell system process design
• Taking part in fuel cell system control optimization
• Documentation and evaluation of field trials

Required qualifications:

• M.Sc. in relevant engineering field
• Relevant hands-on experience of system development within the process or automotive industry
• Advanced problem solving skills
• Ability to work with international component suppliers
• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Fluency in English, both oral and written
• Experience from relevant software tools such as Vision, CAN-analyzer, Simulink and Matlab

Additional desirable qualifications:

• Liquid cooled fuel cell system and fuel cell stack know-how
• Electrochemical know-how
• Experience from launching new products
• Experience from an international and multi-language environment
• Experience from working in a small hi-tech company
• Swedish language skills
