High efficiency with water as the only emission

PowerCell has developed fuel cell technology for more than a decade, and has perfected a unique design that enables the production of a lightweight, versatile and reliable power source for automotive, transport and stationary applications.

PowerCell’s fuel cell stack is designed to work in an APU environment on reformate* gas as well as pure hydrogen. It uses metal bipolar plates and state of the art MEA to give a robust, low cost and high performance design. Some of the design features are patented.

The Fuel Cell is based on PEM technology (Polymere electrolyte membrane). This is the most commonly used technology today, owing to its reliable and dynamic characteristics that allows for full power output within seconds. Another feature is the capability for extensive starts and stops.

S1 Fuel Cell Stack.

The S1 fuel cell stack can be offered in 1-6 kW electric output, either with reformate capability or using pure hydrogen. Cell Voltage Monitoring (CVM) can be provided if the customer do not have its own solution.

We have delivered S1 products to for example the US, Germany, France, Taiwan, China, South Korea, and Sweden, to applications such as military systems, stationary power-generation from natural gas as well as biogas, telecom back-up etc.

S2 – Fuel Cell Stack

The S2 fuel cell is designed for efficient power generation in the range of 5 to 25kW. State-of-the-art PEM technology guarantees superior performance in any application. The S2 is optimized to run on reformate gas but performs equally well on pure hydrogen. Use of modern production lines ensures high quality and delivery capacity. PowerCell has used its heritage from the automotive industry to launch a fuel cell stack that will meet the customer’s.

* Reformate is when a fuel like natural gas, LPG, gasoline or diesel is converted into gas. That gas will be mainly composed of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, water, carbon monoxide.
